When something is carved it is transformed, made real, discoverable.

The nature of working with both wood and linoleum becomes an alchemical process and experience. It is the conjuring of an image into being, that is how print making stole my heart. The act of printing is a physical one, carving stories and uncovering tales, creating imaginary places combined with real life and lived ones.

The language of marks that I translate from the natural world brings my landscapes alive, through sweeping lines, undulating shapes, wide fluid skies, rhythmic patterns and movement.

I hope to evoke a sense of experience, as if you’ve just been there, a falling in love with the world again. A connection with a place, with a story, even if it is for a fleeting minute, a connection to ourselves, place, history, spirit and nature – this means everything to me. An impression on paper but a lasting impression in the heart. This is what I work to create, a window into my world, a moment where you can dream into what you see, pause, ponder, connect, question, unravel.
