Frequently asked questions...

  • What is a Linocut, Lino Print or Block Print?

    • Linocut - a form of relief printmaking technique where the artist carves the lino surface using specialist tools and cuts into the sheet of linoleum.
    • Lino Print - the relief print from the linocut sheet.
    • Lino Block Print - also a form of relief printmaking, that involves carving a pattern or design into the lino block for repeat printing - perfect for surface pattern and fabric design.
  • What does Limited Edition mean?

Limited editions can contain any number of prints between two and several thousand, this depends on the technique used by the artist.

Prints from small editions retain uniqueness and no two are ever the same, so they are especially original.

  • What is a Collagraph Print?

Collagraph printing is an exciting technique for creating textured, tonal prints and designs.

The collagraph is made by collaging low relief materials to a plate (the collagraph plate), it is then sealed, left to dry and then inked before printing through a roller bed press.

This is one of my favourites!

  • What is a Giclée Print?

A giclée print is a high quality fine art reproduction of an original artwork. My artworks are printed using archival pigment inks onto fine art archival papers, such as Somerset Enhanced Velvet, Somerset Matt Photo, among others.

I use a Fine Art Trade Guild Accredited Printer to guarentee their longevity, who are based here in the UK.

  • Framing - How do I frame your work?

I recommend purchasing a good quality frame, with art glass. Going to a good picture framer who can help you choose a custom frame and picture mount is best. Always use acid free materials, this will ensure the prints preservation.

If you need advice, please get in touch and I'll be happy to help.

  • Do you offer printmaking workshops or courses?

    Yes I do!

Teaching printmaking is very much a passion of mine. I love to see other people learn a new skill, improve and create something that they didn't believe they could.

  • Sustainable Materials

I use Cranfield Caligo safe-wash inks and Zest-it printmaking cleaner. I choose to use these so that I don't need to use chemical based cleaning products.

I also use soy-based inks for stamps and responsibly source paper, card and eco-packing materials.

Prints are protected using eco-friendly and biodegradable clear wrap. Sustainability is important to my business, my artistic practice and even more so to me as a person.

  • How are your prints packaged?

All prints are protected using nature friendly packaging and posted to you in a pH neutral, acid free biodegradable sleeve. This protects the print during transit. Envelopes are hard backed to prevent bending.

Prints larger than A3 are either posted in a protective cardboard tube or posted flat with board, recycled bubble wrap and corner protectors.

  • Delivery & Postage

All artworks and prints posted within the UK are sent tracked delivery or next day special delivery via Royal Mail or UPS.

You will receive a tracking number and the value of your print is insured, for utter peace of mind. Your print will require a signature on delivery.
