‘Cley Hill’ Warminster Wiltshire Linocut
Inspiration
Cley Hill Warminster is a 2,500 year old Iron Age Hillfort with the most breathtaking 360 degree view from the top. If you haven't been it is absolutely stunning and well worth the visit!
I’ve loved creating this print and I especially love the changes within the drawing process, from transferring, to carving and then printing. Some planning of course, but I never quite know how I will carve it until I begin, it seems more exciting to let the print reveal itself rather than replicate the drawing, a bit like the experience of climbing the hill, you can’t take it all in until you reach the top!
I think the tree and hedgerow are my favourite bits, if you’d like to find out more you can;
