Course Description:

Take your printmaking practice to the next level in this 8-week advanced collagraph course in Rowde, near Devizes, Wiltshire. Designed for beginners and artists with some printmaking experience, this course explores the creative potential of collagraph plate construction, multi-layered printing, mixed media, and mark-making using resists.

Through a combination of guided instruction and open experimentation, you’ll explore how different textures, materials, and resist techniques influence your prints. You’ll learn to build complex plates, layer multiple images, and create subtle tonal variations, developing a personal and expressive visual language along the way.

This course encourages risk-taking, creative exploration, and technical skill-building in a supportive, hands-on environment. By the end of these eight weeks, you’ll have a collection of original, experimental prints and the confidence to continue pushing your printmaking practice independently.

📅 Dates & Times: Thursdays, 11am til 2pm - starts 5th March 2026 and finishes 7th May 2026. Note - there will be no sessions over Easter on 2nd or 9th April.

You don’t need to bring anything except:

• An apron/old clothes (it can get a little inky!)
• Any sketches or photos you’d like to use for inspiration (these must be your own and not copies)

All printmaking materials and tools will be provided.

☕ Refreshments: Tea, coffee and biscuits are always provided. There will be time for a short break during the session. *Please note - the Café is only open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays*

🚗 Free Parking: available nearby, and the venue is fully accessible. If you have any specific needs, just let me know.
