You’ll explore the intricate and unique Reduction Jigsaw printmaking techniques in this immersive hands-on course. This course delves deep into the intricacies of the process, focusing on precision, skill refinement, and advanced inking methods. But whether you're an experienced printmaker or a technically-driven novice, this weekend workshop will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to create complex, multi-layered linocut prints. I will be guiding you through each step from design, experimentation through to printing.

What will I learn?

• How to create and plan your artwork, taking into consideration multiple layers and colours
• Explore various carving tools and learn to control lines, shapes, and textures
• Ink mixing for creating rich and vibrant prints
• Experimenting with various ink applications and papers to achieve desired effects
• How to print multiple colours from a single block (reduction)
• How to print multiple colours from a jigsaw block
• How to combine jigsaw and reduction printing
• Registration and alignment techniques, resulting in clean and professional prints
• Using a registration template - use with ternes burton pins
• Print using a relief press and burnishing by hand
• Prioritise safety in the studio by learning how to handle tools, inks, solvents and operate presses.
