Course Description:

Are you an absolute beginner and don’t know where to start? Scared of the blank page? Do not fear, starting a sketchbook doesn’t need to be daunting! This course will introduce you to all kinds of approaches to drawing, making marks (not just with a pencil) and the many ways you can approach the page. It will also challenge you to consider - what is a sketchbook? If you’re looking to find your style, understand how to develop your own ideas (not copy) and develop an exciting sketchbook practice this regular class is for you.

Once you book your place you’ll receive an email with more details of the techniques we will use at the start of the course. Starting a Sketchbook is suitable for all abilities.

By the end of this block of sessions you’ll have a sketchbook full of experiments to take into printmaking or develop further.

You don’t need to bring anything except:

• An apron/old clothes (it can get a little inky!)
• A sketchbook or photos you’d like to use for inspiration (optional)

All printmaking materials and tools will be provided.

☕ Refreshments: If your workshop is on a Friday, please bring a packed lunch. Tea, coffee and biscuits are always provided. There will be time for a short break during the session. *Please note - the Café is only open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays*

🚗 Free Parking: available nearby, and the venue is fully accessible. If you have any specific needs, just let me know.

Cancellations made at least 7 days before the workshop will receive a full refund.

Unfortunately, I can’t offer refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of the event, but you’re welcome to transfer your place to a friend.
